Every colonic is a unique experience

Colonics are always of benefit to the body,
yet how the session feels and how your body releases is going to vary across your colon cleansing journey. We cannot always predict how you will feel after a colonic, as in the beginning sometimes detoxification effects are felt. Generally, people feel a sense of lightness, spaciousness, heightened energy and mental and emotional clarity and calmness. Feeling more detox is mainly only people who have experienced greater illness symptoms and/or constipation in their lives, and those who have a very processed/toxic diet. Detox symptoms are very manageable and pass quickly. If felt, they are usually a mild headache, tiredness, fogginess, slight nausea or moodiness. This can be felt in the beginning of cleansing when we are stirring up and loosening old toxic debris in the body and it is not yet ready to exit the body. That toxicity affects the blood, which then affects how you feel as a human in general. This is why a second colonic on the next day is so important - we must release the toxic waste that we stirred up in the body over night. And… we often witness dead parasites (who drowned in your gut overnight) begin exiting the body at the very beginning of the second day.

By hydrating and cleansing the colon, we are initiating a detoxification process in the body that effect literally every cell, tissue and organ. Colon Hydrotherapy affects how everything in the body works, even down to helping you produce more serotonin (the feel good neurotransmitter). And this is why you feel so good after you take a great bowel movement, or why clients have experience that after-poop-glow

While we are relieving your body of stagnant waste that you’ve been holding on to, we are also asking your body to begin some deep, deep cellular work that it likely has not been able to for a long time — if ever. If you do feel a little tired or off after your colonic, then some rest and good self care is the best remedy. An early sleep after a gentle dinner and you should be feeling much better the next day.

HOW TO EAT AFTER YOUR COLONIC

Eat gentle foods so that you can get the most out of therapy and not create extra work or inflammation for your body. We want to focus on healing and cleansing. It counts to be diligent in this process.

DO NOT EAT these after a colonic:

Bread, pasta
Anything deep friend, processed or fast food
Pork, red meat or fried meats
Candy, ice cream, popcorn, artificial food
Alcohol, soda, Gatorade, sweet tea, or anything with artificial ingredients or sweetener

Also, remember to CHEW and BREATHE.
Digestion begins in the mouth.

#1 health task:

Keep the body hydrated.

Hydrate yourself very well!
This keeps the bowels hydrated, old poop loosening, and helps keep your blood thinner and kidneys flushing out toxins!

HYDRATE YOURSELF with PURIFIED WATER.
Distillation and Reverse Osmosis are the best methods of purification that remove the neurotoxin fluoride). A Brita filter is only a simple carbon filter that basically only removes the smell and taste of chlorine. This is not good enough for cleansing. We want the most pure water possible flushing through our bodies.

Room temperature or warm water with fresh squeezed lemon or lime is very supportive for cleansing. Stevia or raw organic honey may be added.
PLEASE NEVER MICROWAVE THE WATER YOU DRINK OR THE FOOD YOU EAT. Stove top. Kettle. Old school is healthier.

Nightly Self-Care

Bedtime self-care routines can become an integral time of the day for your connection with yourself and your body.

Probiotics before bed is highly recommended during cleansing, and also the magnesium drink named CALM

In my own self-care nightly routine, I include using my neti pot to cleanse my sinuses and dry skin brushing to move my lymphatic system. Ask me about these ideas if you are curious.

Please be mindful when you are cleansing that we are actively trying to create more ease and periods of intentional rest for the body, and trying to limit toxic exposure in many ways.

Healthy habits:

“I believe that a toxic elimination system is the most common cause of ill health today, and the most dangerous. Fortunately it is also treatable.” Linda Berry, D.C. and popular cleansing author-3.png

Minimize screen time in the hours before bedtime. On your smartphone you can dim your screen and also make the screen color warmer and less blue in Settings. From 8pm-8am my phone stays in this warmer setting to be less stimulating for the nervous system. For your computer, you can download Flux to do the same thing. This are tremendously helpful.

Turn off the wifi at night. I know that takes a little effort and might be annoying, but its now proven that the frequency emitted through wifi is dangerous to our personal electromagnetic fields - i.e.: your nervous system! Which then affects everything. Especially if you are having trouble sleeping or fatigue and adrenal exhaustion.

Keep your phone in a different room while you sleep. If you need an alarm clock, please buy one. They still exist. Our phones give off a large amount of radiation, and while you are sleeping we need to let our bodies do as much rest and repair as possible and limit damaging influences during this time. Your sleep space is sacred. If you do need to keep your phone near you, please put it on airplane mode.

More self-care ideas to support cleansing

You can stack the odds in your favor for healing just a little bit - or A LOT. All of our small choices matter throughout the day. All of our choices are significant. It may seem like effort at first to remember to drink enough clean water, to slowing down to chew properly, to eat clean and primarily plant-based instead of reaching for ‘convenient’ ‘food.’ But the effort you put in at first will have an incredible snow-balling affect and launch you into a different lifestyle and version of yourself. This may be a bit scary for us to step outside of our comfort zones - but that is where life really begins!

Take your time, awareness and effort to learn new habits and the why’s behind them. You are cultivating a new foundation of health and awareness within you, and there is no task in life that can be more important than this. Your body is your only body. Our bodies have limits and if we simply create the courage and discipline to begin change and healing, before we know it we will be living lives that feel more connected, inspired, energetic and balanced. We know ourselves better and grow stronger character. Give yourself and your body your attention. Sooner or later we have to, and it’s much easier if we pick the easier, sooner option. Our health is 100% our own responsibility. Our bodies know how to heal, we just need to give them the opportunity.

The Energetics and Emotions of Cleansing

This needs to be talked about more in general. This is a huge component of your body releasing and regenerating.

Cleansing and healing is much, much deeper of a process than simply flushing the body and eating right. And especially if you are intending to heal disease symptoms.

Everything is energy. The root causes of our physical imbalance or lack of health is first and foremost an energetic imbalance that has now manifested in physical form in the body. In order to heal the body, you must first be truly open to healing and believe and trust in your body’s innate wisdom and ability to heal itself. Our modern medical system has lost the wisdom of the ancients and has disconnected from what kind of environment a body truly needs in order to heal itself.

We hold a lot of emotion in the gut. This is where our higher sensory perception, instinct and intuition resides. We literally digest our external environment and stimuli in our guts, taking in, absorbing, assimilating, holding on to much and letting go of some.

While cleansing, we learn a lot about ourselves. We start looking more closely at our habits, our emotions, the influences we allow and the boundaries for ourselves that we do and do not make. As massage therapists often say, “the issue is in the tissue.” Well, for a Colon Therapist,   “THE SH*T IS IN THE SH*T.”    We’ve gotta be gentle with ourselves, but also begin to become radically honest with ourselves. We’ve gotta see that whatever situation we are in at this point in our health - that we have gotten ourselves here by our own choices, thoughts and emotions. This journey is not for the faint of heart. This journey is worth every single ounce of effort and attention. By cleansing ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally, we begin learning what true freedom and security is. We grow healthy body’s with strong foundations; we know ourselves deeply; we trust that our bodies and minds and hearts are resilient and adaptable. Our physical body and the innate wisdom of our gut becomes a true guidance system for while we are here on earth participating in this reality together.

All in all, we gotta let our shit go.
No more holding onto that which is heavy, stagnant and not serving of the highest parts of us.

We eliminate to illuminate.

We trust the process. Cleansing the body and mind through the colon is an ancient practice to create balance and wellness. This is not a fad or a new age thing to do. This is not big business. This is simply sharing of practices and perspectives of healing that have been used all over the globe, for thousands of years. We posture the consciousness for healing through the expansion of our perspectives and understanding of ourselves.
